Who We Are and What We Do   

In times of pain and loss, the Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad will provide quality emergency medical services.

Our purpose is to act as a stabilizing force and deliver our patients to definitive care safely, with dignity and compassion.

Our Services

Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad  is dedicated to serving our community by providing valuable emergency services to the residents of Northumberland County. 

Our organization consists of volunteers from all walks of life.  We welcome you with open arms. Please inquire today about how you can become a part of our growing membership. MCVRS Activites

Training

Monthly training 4th Wednesday of the month. We hold classes and talks on CPR/FIRST AID and AED use.  Our instructors are American Heart Association certified. 

Standbys

At Heathsville Farmers Market, our volunteers do a Standby; come visit and have your blood pressure checked and talk with the volunteers.

Meetings

Our meetings are the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM

 Ambulances

Our Ambulance Transportation

Our Basic Life Support (BLS) team staffs our 2 ambulances with a minimum of an EMT and a trained Driver. BLS units provide emergency response with an ALS (Advanced Life Support) backup when needed. BLS personnel are trained in basic airway management, bleeding control, CPR, orthopedic care, managing allergic reactions, assisting with delivery of newborns and much more.
